Charles Walsh was born in 1970, is a Northern Irish Artist who lives and works in the coastal village of Killough, Co.Down.

Having studied fine Art at Chelsea School of Art and Camberwell College of Art & Design, then completing Master of Arts in Painting at the University of Ulster at Belfast in 1994; he returned to Killough to set up a studio and continue to concentrate on abstract painting.

The works are concerned with clarity of vision, focussing on the physical properties of paint, and the formal elements of abstract content and geometric form. Colour is explored in perceptual terms rather than symbolic, modulating the chromatic values of each painting enhances the Platonic sense of space, which attempts to evoke a pure, meditative state.
